Biography

David is the Independent Chair of the multi-party Sustainable Food and Fibre Futures (SFFF) programme, A Lighter Touch.

David has built a career in science and innovation leadership in the New Zealand horticultural industry. David runs Start Afresh, a horticultural innovation company, with his business partner, Sally Gardiner. David and Sally consider themselves to be growers first (of apples and kiwifruit), innovators (providing innovation services across a range of horticultural industries) and educators (running training courses in predominantly postharvest handling of fruit crops).
