Paul Munro

Biography

After graduating from Lincoln College, Paul became a Field Trials Officer for Shell Chemicals, based in Palmerston North.  For the next 14 years, Paul conducted crop protection and animal health field trials in the lower North Island.

In 1996, a move to Pukekohe resulted in Paul establishing Alpha Research Limited, a joint venture business that concentrated on contract field trials for pesticide registrants, mostly on local vegetable crops, but also on fruit crops in the Bay of Plenty and Northland.

A shareholding and name change to Peracto occurred in 2008. Over the next three years, the business expanded into Hawkes Bay and Canterbury. The operation continues today in the three locations, but now called Staphyt Research after the sale of the business to the French company of the same name.

In June 2020, Paul was appointed to his current position of Transition Technical Lead in the A Lighter Touch programme.
