Mike Beare

Biography

Mike is a Principal Scientist in the Cropping Systems and Environment group of Plant & Food Research, based in Lincoln. His research expertise includes nutrient management in arable and vegetable crop production systems to improve soil fertility and reduce nutrient losses. Mike has 32 years of experience in soil and environmental science. He has led a number of national and international research programmes including a current Sustainable Farming Fund project titled Mineralisable N to improve on-farm N management.  This project is co-funded by the Vegetable Research and Innovation Board of HortNZ.
