Biography

Dr. Alasdair Baxter did his PhD in Food Science in the UK where he worked in food product development before emigrating to NZ in 1994. He then moved into Business Development for Food Ingredients companies before joining The FoodBowl as Business Development Manager in 2017. Alasdair has passion for helping companies develop innovative foods that will contribute to the growth of the New Zealand Food Industry.

Global Food Trends and the Opportunities for New Zealand: How the Food Innovation Network can Help

The FoodBowl is a Government supported pilot plant facility which is part of the New Zealand Food Innovation Network. It has premises in Auckland, Hamilton, Palmerston North, Christchurch and Dunedin.

 The network helps companies develop new food and beverage products by providing export-grade production premises, processing equipment, advice, connections and training.

 In his role as Business Development Manager, Alasdair Baxter is the first point of contact for FoodBowl customers.

 Alasdair’s presentation will cover how the Global Food Industry is changing and what resulting opportunities there might be for New Zealand in the future.
